Courses Taught

  • "Introductory Physics" (pre-med track)
PHY317K is the Mechanics, Fluids, Waves (taught Spr.'01, Fall '01, and Spr.'05)
PHY317L is electromagnetism and modern physics (taught Spr.'02, Fall '02, Fall'03).

  • "PHY396T: Special Topics in Elementary Particle Physics"
Upper level graduate course on the weak interaction, especially quark mixing, neutrino mixing, and P, C, CP, and CPT violation. Here is a flyer advertising the course (taught Fall '00).

  • "PHY362L: Quantum Mechanics IV"
Fourth-semester quantum mechanics for juniors and seniors (scattering theory, time-dep. perturbation theory, symmetries, 2-state mixing). Taught Spring '03.

  • "PHY398T: Pizza Seminar"
Course which grew out of a seminar series I started. Intended for first year grad students and upper-level undergrads interested in getting started in research. Faculty give informal presentations about their work and about what it's like to be a grad student in their group.

    Other Activities

  • I was awarded the UT College of Natural Sciences Teaching Excellence Award in 2004.
  • Junior Honors Colloquium - Special seminar given to Texas high school students.
